Glimpse was first published in Toronto in 2000 by founding editor Alene Evason, who produced fifty issues and remains the inspiration behind the magazine. For this we thank her!
Submission Guidelines
- Send up to three previously unpublished poems, along with a brief cover letter (including email and postal addresses) and a three-sentence author bio during our submission period (September 1 – October 31). Please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Addresses outside the USA require international postage. If submitting via email, please send all three poems in one Word document attachment. Your author bio and postal address should appear in the body of the email.
- Poems should be typed, and stanza breaks (if any) must be clearly indicated.
- We welcome simultaneous submissions, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere while still under consideration.
- We consider all styles of poetry, but we are not interested in poems dealing with “gothic” themes (e.g., Dracula, werewolves, zombies). We also do not accept overtly religious content, gratuitous vulgarity, overly long lines, unconventional formatting, or rhyme-dependent verse. No AI-generated content.
- We will not consider any work that contains hateful or discriminatory content, including homophobia, misogyny, racism, xenophobia, or similar biases.
- While we are unable to offer payment, contributors will receive two complimentary copies of the issue in which their work appears.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE THESE GUIDELINES WITH OTHER POETS AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO SUBMIT!
